The device (1) has a blowing station (2) formed with a cavity in which a plastic preform is transformable into plastic containers (10) by pressurization with gaseous medium i.e. working fluid. A pressurization device (18) leads the gaseous medium into the plastic preform. A feed conduit (4) supplies the gaseous medium to the plastic preform, and a discharge conduit (6) exhausts the gaseous medium from the blowing station. An energy converter device (20) converts flow energy of the gaseous medium into electrical power. The converter device is in flow connection with the discharge conduit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a device for shaping a plastic preform to plastic containers.
