<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve installation freedom and reduce a manufacturing period and costs by achieving an illumination trimming around letters, which is a visual representation effect for backlight-type channel letters, with a thin and light panel-type sign. <P>SOLUTION: In a device having planar light guide means and a light source, a letter or figure is formed by arranging an irregular reflecting material by film adhesion or printing on a first surface of the light guide means, and an irregular reflection plane is positioned on a second surface side of the light guide means. As a result, a part of light which has propagated through the light guide means is irregularly reflected by the irregular reflecting material and further reflected on the irregular reflection plane again to appear on the first surface side of the light guide means. Thereby, an illumination trimming appears around the letter or figure composed of the irregular reflecting material when viewed from the first surface side of the light guide means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
