<p>Disclosed is a normally black mode liquid crystal display. A liquid crystal layer (70) comprises liquid crystal molecules (71) that are vertically aligned when no voltage is applied thereto, while being horizontally aligned when a voltage is applied thereto. Alignment films (35, 56) are respectively divided into two alignment domains parallel to source lines (42) in each one of pixel regions (23) which are divided in a grid-like pattern by the source lines (42) and gate lines (43). The first alignment film (35) comprises a first domain (35a) and a second domain (35b), and the second alignment film (56) comprises a third domain (56a) that faces the first domain and a fourth domain (56b) that faces the second domain (35b). In two adjacent pixel regions (23), the same domains are arranged adjacent to each other with a source line (42) lying therebetween.</p> |
