A method for transmitting header information of packet data for a point-to-multipoint multimedia multicast service is provided to normally update context without waiting until a state of an ROHC compressor is shifted to an overall context formation state. A method for transmitting header information of packet data for a point-to-multipoint multimedia multicast service includes the steps of: transmitting a packet to compress the header information and identifier information to display types of the packet to a lower layer of a communication system; and transmitting an overall header packet including all of context information for reconstructing the header information when the information related to a transmission failure of the packet is received from the lower layer(S504). |
