PURPOSE: A device for preventing transformer excitation inrush currents and a method thereof are provided to apply various capacities to an uninterruptible power supply device. CONSTITUTION: A current monitoring unit(123) monitors a current of an inverter(110). A PWM transfer unit(122) transfers a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) control signal to the inverter. If an inrush current is generated during a fixed time section, an inrush current controller(124) transfers a PWM control signal to the PWM transfer unit. A main controller(130) controls PWM phase and amplitude to apply an allowable voltage to or make a current flow in the inverter.
