<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system which can superbly conduct heat from a power supply part (power supply circuit) to a heat dissipating part. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system 100 includes: an LED 12 as a light source; a power supply circuit 6 to supply power to the LED 12; the heat dissipating part 3 which is made of an electric insulating material and in which the heat from the power supply circuit 6 housed inside is dissipated in the outside air; a heat transfer cylinder 4 and a heat transfer plate 5 as a heat conductive part to conduct the heat from the power supply circuit 6 to the heat dissipating part 3; and a base 7 installed at one end of the heat dissipating part 3. The heat dissipating part 3 has a truncated conical outer shape enlarged in diameter toward the other side from the side of the base 7 and is thermally connected to the heat conductive part by embedding at least a part of the heat conductive part.
