<p>Disclosed is a method for metallizing polyester, comprising (a) treating the polyester with an alkaline solution; (b) contacting the polyester treated with an alkaline solution with at least an unfunctionalized alkoxy compound of the Formula (I) where the substituents are as disclosed in the specification, (c) optionally conducting a first condensation reaction; (d) contacting the polyester with at least a functionalized alkoxy compound of the Formula (I), (e) conducting a second condensation, (f) treating the polyester from (e) with a solution containing at least one metal salt selected from the group consisting of a silver salt, a copper salt, and a nickel salt, and at least one complexing agent, and (g) treating the polyester from (f) with at least one reducing agent. Also disclosed are coated polyesters and the use of a polyester tor antimicrobially treating liquid in liquid-guiding systems or for producing sock, insoles, clothing, covering textiles for seating furniture or mattresses.</p> |
