<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely determine that the passage for returning exhaust gas into cylinders of is blocked. <P>SOLUTION: An engine ECU carries out outside EGR and also carries out a processing including step (S100) for advancing the angle of the ignition timing of all the cylinders of the engine, step (106) for delaying the angle of the ignition timing in order one after another cylinder when the outside EGR is carried out and knocking is not generated before advancing the angle of the ignition timing (NO in S102) and when the outside EGR is carried out and knocking is generated after advancing the angle of the ignition timing (YES in S104), and step (108) for determining that the passage arranged to the cylinder changing from the condition where knocking is generated to the condition where knocking is not generated is blocked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
