The method involves changing injection duration of an injection valve of a combustion engine, and measuring exhaust gas composition of the combustion engine. A deviation of flow is determined for the injection valves of the combustion engine based on the measured the exhaust gas composition, where the injection duration of the injection valve is changed based on the determined deviation. The deviation of flow is compensated based on the changed injection duration. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a combustion engine.
