<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve appropriate distance range switching according with an actual distance to a measurement object, in a distance sensor employing a phase system. <P>SOLUTION: A distance sensor 100 is configured so that a frequency division ratio N of a frequency divider 4 for 1/N frequency division of a reference clock signal F1 generated by an oscillator 2 and a frequency division ratio N of a frequency divider 10 for 1/N frequency division of a reference clock signal F2 generated by a PLL 8 are variable. When distance measurement is performed, frequency division ratios N of the frequency dividers 4 and 10 are set to a maximum value Nmax, and the frequency division ratios N of the frequency dividers 4 and 10 are changed to optimal frequency division ratios N respectively in accordance with a measurement distance Lx calculated in this state, and then the measurement distance is calculated again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
