ELECTROSTATIC COATING APPARATUS AND ELECTROSTATIC COATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic coating apparatus and an electrostatic coating method which aim at the amount increase of an electrostatic charge of a coating material using a shaping air, paying attention to triboelectric series of air; increase strength of an electric field formed between an object to be coated and a coating machine; and thereby can aim at further improvement in deposition efficiency.

SOLUTION: The electrostatic coating apparatus includes: a coating gun 4 including a bell cup 4a which is an atomizing part for making a coating material atomize, and an air nozzle 7 which is an air jetting part which blows off a shaping air for controlling a diffusion pattern of an atomized coating material; a high voltage generator 5 which impresses high voltage to the coating gun 4 (or an electrode attached to the coating gun 4); and a controller 6 which controls high voltage impressed by the high voltage generator 5, wherein the high voltage generator 5 generates high voltage of positive polarity.
