<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device for a vehicle for providing proper information to a driver so that the driver can enjoy transit fare discount on a toll road. <P>SOLUTION: The information providing device for a vehicle includes: current position identification means for identifying the current position of its own vehicle; recommended route setting means for setting a recommended route from the current position of the own vehicle identified by the current position identification means to a destination set by a user; planned passing toll gate specifying means for specifying a toll gate on a toll road through which the own vehicle is planned to pass as a planned passing toll gate; and guiding means which updates the planned passing toll gate to a toll gate closer to the own vehicle and provides guidance if the traveling distance on the toll road interferes discount conditions. If the planned passing toll gate is updated to a toll gate closer to the own vehicle by the guiding means, the recommended route setting means resets the recommended route so that the updated planned passing toll gate will be passed through. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
