The engine has a cylinder (2) whose piston (4) synchronously moves with respect to turning points of a piston of another cylinder (1). An opening is extended along connection between expansion spaces of the cylinders at an end of a compression stroke of the latter cylinder. The latter cylinder is provided for operation of two cycles. The latter cylinder is compressed if fuel containing air is charged from crankcase chambers (13, 14) of the cylinders. Maximum boost pressure of the cylinders is varied within the crankcase chambers.
