PURPOSE: A method for producing a base material of an aluminum alloy can is provided to form an aluminum ca without internal defects and errors through a deep-drawing method. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing a base material of an aluminum alloy can is as follows. A billet is formed by fusing an aluminum alloy. The formed billet is cut in a length which can be inserted into an extruder. The billet is extruded in a plate-shaped strip. The strip is cut in a predetermined length. The cut strip is rolled in a longitudinal direction. The first rolled strip is heat-treated. The heat-treated strip is rolled in a transverse direction. Lubricating oil is spread on the surface of the second rolled strip. A base material is formed by pressing the strip. The formed base material is heat-treated. The heat-treated base material is put into a barrel, and the surface of the base material is roughly treated.
