<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for tracking the proximity of the foot or hand of a user. <P>SOLUTION: The position of a camera is determined by analyzing at least a partial image of a structurally encoded pattern obtained from the camera, and formed on a face. The structurally encoded pattern includes a plurality of elements. In each element, information for specifying the position and direction of the element relating to the face is encoded.
