<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixation system for reconstructing the ligament by fixing at least one graft ligament strand in the bone tunnel. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: a retainer for disosition in the bone tunnel; and a cap removably attached to the retainer for capturing the at least one graft ligament strand to the retainer by compressing the at least one graft ligament strand to the retainer by compressing the at least one graft ligament strand between the cap and the retainer. The retainer is disposed in the tibial tunnel and the graft ligament strand is extended along the retainer, and the graft ligament strand is compressively held against the sidewall of the tibial tunnel. Subsequently, by using a locking pin, the retainer is pinned in the host bone. Moreover, as follows, a locking cap may secure the graft ligament strand to the retainer in a step of capturing the graft ligament strand in the host bone. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
