<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device and method thereof capable of shortening a position measurement time while reducing power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A positioning device comprises a WLAN position calculating section that measures a position based on a radio wave from an access point, a satellite positioning section that measures a position based on a radio wave from a positioning satellite, a positioning result determination section that determines if it adopts a positioning result by the WLAN position calculating section when positioning failure occurs at the satellite positioning section, and an output section that outputs a positioning result calculated by the WLAN position calculating section when an adoption of the positioning result by the WLAN positioning calculation section is determined by the positioning result determination section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
