<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle navigation device and a route guidance method that are capable of guiding an optimum route in accordance with whether a destination facility is a facility within a certain regulation area. <P>SOLUTION: An on-vehicle navigation device is provided with: display means; information input means; map data storage means storing map data including information regarding regulation areas indicating that only vehicles satisfying prescribed conditions are passable; memory means storing passability/impassability information indicating whether one's own vehicle can pass through a regulation area; and control means searching a guide route to a destination. When the control means determines that one's own vehicle is a vehicle that can not pass through a regulation area, it performs search and guidance of a route that does not enter the regulation area if a destination is outside the regulation area, or if a destination is within the regulation area, it guides a route leading to the outside of the regulation area or performs search and guidance of a route leading to the destination but not using the vehicle within the regulation area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
