<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed device that satisfactorily feeds paper while reducing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The paper feed device 50 comprises: a paper stacking plate 17 on which paper 3 is stacked; a drive section which raises or lowers the paper stacking plate 17; paper feed sections 5, 6 and 6A which feed the paper 3 on the raised paper stacking plate 17; a paper detection section 9 which detects paper 3 fed thereon; and a controller. When a paper feed instruction is received, if the paper 3 is detected by the paper detection section 9, the controller causes the paper feed sections 5, 6 and 6A to feed the paper further, and if no paper 3 is detected, the controller causes the drive section to raise the paper stacking plate and then causes the paper feed sections 5, 6 and 6A to start feeding the paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
