<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect continuous input operation by simple audio signal processing, by using a microphone in the input operation. <P>SOLUTION: With reference to an audio signal collected by means of a microphone, energy levels of a sliding audio signal component generated by sliding operations are monitored. When the time interval where the energy level is the same as or higher than a first level continues longer than a first time interval, a decision is made that the sliding operation is started. When the time interval where the energy level of the sliding audio signal component is lower than a second level continues for a second time interval, a decision is made that the sliding operation is ended.
