PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a display image which displays an image of a feature indicating a feature as a landmark such that one can easily recognize the image.

SOLUTION: A display image generating device includes feature information obtaining means for obtaining feature information indicating a three-dimensional shape and a location of a feature and display image generating means for generating a display image including an image of the feature by drawing the image of the feature when seen from a viewing location set on a running route of a vehicle based on the feature information, in which an area of the image of the feature in the display image is obtained based on the viewing location and the feature information and the feature whose image is emphatically drawn is selected based on the area of the image of the feature.
