<p>A method for implementing a multimedia message number portability is disclosed in the present invention, which includes: a source user submits a multimedia message transmitted to a destination user to a Wireless Application Protocol Gate Way (WAPGW); the WAPGW queries a Domain Name System for storage of E.164 Numbers (ENUM DNS) according to the submitted multimedia message, and obtains first home information comprising a source user home Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC); the WAPGW submits the multimedia message to the source user home MMSC according to the first home information; the source user home MMSC forwards the multimedia message to the destination user. A system for implementing a multimedia message number portability is also disclosed in the present invention. Under the condition of no adding a new network element and a new message, the present invention implements the number portability function of multimedia message service, thereby the amount of network change is smaller, the use of users is facilitated, and the user experience is enhanced.</p> |
