<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a utilization in a wide range of applications and an excellent confidentiality in an authentication system. <P>SOLUTION: A reading device 2 optically reads a verification mark printed on an authentication medium, detects luminous energy within predetermined plural wavelength bands of reflecting light from the verification mark, calculates reflective spectrum characteristics of the verification mark based on the detected luminous energy of the plural wavelength bands and the spectrum calculation parameters, and transmits information indicating the calculated reflective spectrum characteristics to an authentication device 3. The authentication device 3 collates the reflective spectrum characteristics calculated on the reading device 2 with canonical reflective spectrum characteristics of the verification mark measured in advance, so as to determine whether or not the authentication medium whose verification mark read on the reading device 2 is the canonical authentication medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
