<p>Disclosed are a method and Base Station (BS) for link selection, and the method includes: a serving BS calculating the delays of link R6 and link R8 when the link R6 and the link R8 are both active, the link R6 being the link between the serving BS or a target BS and an adjacent gateway AGW, and the link R8 being the link between the serving BS and the target BS; comparing twice of the delay of link R6 with the delay of link R8; and selecting the link R8 for communication when twice of the delay of link R6 is greater than the delay of link R8, or otherwise, selecting the link R6 for communication. With the present invention, a communication link can be selected by comparing the delay of the handover from the serving BS to the target BS via the AGW and the delay of the handover from the serving BS directly to the target BS, thereby an efficient MS handover between BSs can be achieved.</p> |
