<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device, a character input control method, and a character input control program that can inhibit use of a character that is not wanted to be used by a user. <P>SOLUTION: A character input device 1 according to the present invention includes: a conversion candidate storage unit 11 that stores therein conversion candidate information indicating character strings of conversion candidates; a restricted character string storage unit 12 that stores therein restricted character string information indicating a character string to be restricted; a conversion candidate extracting unit 13 that extracts, from the character strings indicated by the conversion candidate information stored in the conversion candidate storage unit 11, a character string of a conversion candidate for a character string input by a user; and a display control unit 14 that displays an extracted character string on a display unit 15. Among entered character strings, when either: a character string being a combination of a first character string in a predetermined range adjacent to a character string being converted and a second character string included in conversion candidates for the character string being converted; or the second character string matches a character string indicated by the restricted character string information stored in the restricted character string storage unit 12, the conversion candidate extracting unit 13 excludes the second character string included in the conversion candidates from the conversion candidates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
