<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure necessary forging stroke and forging pressure while keeping energy efficiency high in converting vertical pressing force of a vertical press to horizontal pressing force. <P>SOLUTION: This forging device of a vertical press includes a ram cylinder 31 arranged in a vertical attitude for receiving rolling reduction force of the vertical press, and a ram cylinder 32 arranged in a horizontal attitude, and communicating with the other end of an operating fluid passage 35 for forging a workpiece W by receiving liquid pressure of the operating fluid. A cylinder chamber 34 for vertically-movably holding the ram cylinder 31 in the vertical attitude, a cylinder chamber 33 for horizontally-movably holding the ram cylinder 32 in the horizontal attitude, a workpiece support part 12 for catching both ends of the workpiece W between the ram cylinder 32 and itself, and a housing space 13 for housing a forging die 2 for mounting the workpiece W thereon are provided in a housing 1; and the operating fluid passage 35 is formed between the cylinder chambers 33, 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
