<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press machine that improves the ability to escape from a bottom dead center without upsizing an electric motor, and to provide a method for controlling the press machine. <P>SOLUTION: The press machine is configured to rotate an eccentric shaft by the electric motor so as to move a slide up and down. The press machine includes: a slide position output device for outputting a slide position; and a controller for controlling the electric motor driving based on the slide position output from the slide position output device. The controller includes: a bottom dead center arrival determiner for determining whether the slide reaches the proximity of the bottom dead center; a slide stop determiner for determining whether the slide stops; and a vibrational component imparting unit for imparting a vibrational component, in which the electric motor repeats a normal rotation and a reverse rotation, to a control command for the electric motor when the slide stops in the proximity of the bottom dead center. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
