<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinball game machine of novel game characteristics utilizing a plurality of start holes and special symbols. <P>SOLUTION: A win/lose determination is made using a first special symbol corresponding to a first start hole or a second special symbol corresponding to a second start hole, and in the case of winning, an auxiliary game that extends a variation time required for the variable display of the first special symbol is started after the execution of a special game. The auxiliary game is continued until the win/lose determination frequency of the first special symbol reaches the predetermined frequency. In this manner, a win/lose determination based on the second special symbol can be carried out during the auxiliary game while fully securing the duration of the auxiliary game.
