<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin-impregnated strand of carbon fibers having an excellent resin impregnation ability, and to provide a long fiber pellet of the carbon fibers. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing the thermoplastic resin-impregnated strand of the carbon fibers comprises putting a carbon fiber bundle in an impregnation bath in which a molten thermoplastic resin is filled and blocks having a shape of an arc are arranged, spreading the carbon fiber bundle by contacting the bundle with and moving it over the arc parts of the blocks, and impregnating the carbon fiber bundle with the thermoplastic resin. The arc-shaped blocks are composed of a spreading block with a convex arc and converging blocks with an inverted concave arc. The arcs face in the same direction.
