PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a magnesium silicide-based sintered body is provided to improve the sintering rate and the homogeneity of magnesium silicide by implementing twice or more heating treating processes and ball milling processes with respect to solid-phase synthetic powder. CONSTITUTION: Magnesium powder, silicon powder, and dopant are mixed and primarily ball-milled. The primarily ball-milled synthetic powder is dried and primarily heat treated. The primarily heat treated synthetic powder is secondarily ball-milled. The secondarily ball-milled powder is dried and secondarily heat treated. The secondarily heat treated synthetic powder is third ball-milled. The third ball-milled synthetic powder is dried, and a shaping body is formed. The shaping body is sintered in a crucible.
