<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating removal member and a coating removal method using the coating removal member capable of reliably removing coating from optic fiber with a small press force. <P>SOLUTION: A coating removal member for optic fibers for removing coating from a cut end of an exposed optic fiber has an optic fiber insertion hole 11 into which a bare optic fiber is inserted and a coating removal portion 15 which comes into contact with coating on the cut end of the optic fiber. In the coating removal portion 15, an external peripheral shape of a portion S adjacent to a contact face 61 which comes into contact with at least the coating is formed in a conical shape expanding from a contact face 61 toward the other face T, and on the other face T having a conical shape, ribs 69 are provided to give a outward force to the coating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
