<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a graphite film without (1) breakage when heated, (2) having high flatness, (3) superior electrical conductivity, and superior heat conductivity (4). <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a graphite film includes graphiting a raw material film. The raw material film is graphited through applying and holding it along the inner surface of a carbonaceous container.
