<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a styrene oxide compound by an oxidation reaction (epoxidation reaction) of a styrene compound, which is safe and efficient and with which a side reaction and decomposition of an aimed compound are sufficiently reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a styrene oxide compound comprises making a styrene compound react with hydrogen peroxide to produce a styrene oxide compound, wherein the reaction is carried out in the presence of an iron compound, a base and a heterocyclic carboxylic acid compound as a catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
