The present invention relates to a visualisation device 1 comprising a distal portion 9 that assumes a loop shape, extending in an axis that is transverse to the axis of the length of the catheter 7 at least temporarily (e.g. when a guide wire is removed, the distal portion may assume the transverse loop shape). In that distal portion is located a number of openings 13, coupled to a first lumen for receiving a radiopaque material. The openings 13 face away from the proximal end of the catheter towards the feature to be image, in an axis that is generally parallel to the axis of the catheter (see figure 4). This configuration of openings enables a radiopaque material to be delivered to the desired site efficiently. There may be further lumens to receive the guidewire. The distal loop may be offset from the longitudinal axis. Also disclosed is a catheter having a distal transverse loop with undulations in the longitudinal direction (see figure 5). |
