<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine for improving combustion characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine includes: a piston 100 including a cavity 22 on a top surface, wherein the central shaft 20 of the cavity 22 is decenterd in a predetermined eccentric direction by a certain eccentricity a relative to the central shaft 10 in a direction in which the piston 100 slides. A shape of an end portion 24 on a bottom part of the cavity 22 existing on a cross-sectional surface including the central shaft 20 of the cavity 22 includes a curved portion. When the eccentric direction is defined as a positive direction of an x-axis, curvature of the curved portion gets larger as coordinates in the x-axis of the end portion 24 move in the positive direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
