Stringer positioning

The method involves holding a stringer (1) at a primary gripping position by a primary gripper (5) and at a secondary gripping position axially spaced from the primary gripping position by a secondary gripper (6). The stringer with the primary gripper is positioned and fixed at or near the primary gripping position at the surface structure (7). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for joining a stringer with a surface structure; and (2) a gripping and joining tool for gripping two components.
