PATCH ANTENNA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch antenna which can obtain a good VSWR characteristic in a wide band as a planar antenna which can be even smaller and thinner.

SOLUTION: Laminated on the surface of a dielectric substrate 11 constituting a patch antenna 10 of a rectangle with a 28.4 mm short side and a 34.0 mm long side is an antenna element 12 having a circular patch section 12A and a microstrip section 2B, and a ground plate is laminated on the reverse face of the dielectric substrate 11. Provided on the center of the long side of the dielectric substrate 11 is a belt-like specific area 11A which partitions the dielectric substrate 11 into the first region 11B and the second region 11C. The dielectric constant ε1 of the first region 11B and the second region 11C is 8.0, and the dielectric constant ε2 of the specific area 11A is 2.9. The ground plate is placed partly from the second region 1C to the specific region 1A of the dielectric substrate 1.
