<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for treating exhaust, which is a catalyst made from a substitute for platinum, capable of making the combustion initiation temperature of a fine particulate substance equal to or lower than in case of a platinum-based catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for treating exhaust including a composite oxide accelerating the combustion of a fine particulate substance contained in exhaust, is characterized in that the composite oxide is of a perovskite structure and is one of the following composite oxides: a composite oxide of strontium, chromium and tantalum; a composite oxide of strontium, iron and tungsten; a composite oxide of strontium, iron and molybdenum; a composite oxide of barium, nickel and tungsten; composite oxides of barium, manganese and tungsten; and a composite oxide of barium, cobalt and tungsten. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
