PURPOSE: The data-transmit-receiving apparatus and method of a communications system are provided to improve date process rate and data error rate by accurately inspecting whether a signal field is normal or not through a plurality of bits of the signal field included in a data packet. CONSTITUTION: A data field generating unit(720) creates a data field for data transmission. A signal field generating unit(710) creates signal field for information transfer about the data field. A transmission unit(740) transmits a data packet which includes the data field and the signal field. The signal field comprises a transfer rate bit, a reservation bit, a packet length bit, a parity check bit, and a tail bit. A check bit inspects whether the signal field is normal or not through two or more bits among bits of the signal field.
