[Also in Group XVI] A printing plate material comprises a laminated sheet consisting of a backing layer of soft-vulcanizable rubber firmly adhered to a layer of facing material made of a heat-curable blend of synthetic rubber with a thermosetting resin. The backing layer may be a nitrile rubber which may contain sulphur, accelerators, and activators. The synthetic rubber of the facing layer may be a rubbery butadieneacrylonitrile copolymer, and the thermosetting resin may be a phenol.formaldehyde resin modified with cashew nut oil, together with a heating-setting agent, e.g. hexamethylene tetramine. The facing layer may also contain sulphur, fillers such as carbon black, and a softener or plasticizer, e.g. cumarone-indene resin.</p> |
