<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of achieving both downsizing and reduction of manufacturing cost, and an image-forming apparatus equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device (14) for fixing images in a recording medium comprises: a fixing belt member (45) that has a heat layer producing heat by electromagnetic induction of a magnetic flux, rotates around an axis line extending in a width direction of the conveyed recording medium, and heats tonner images in the recording medium to fix the images in the recording medium; an electromagnetic induction heating unit (50) that is arranged along an external surface of the fixing belt member and inductively heats the heat layer by generating the magnetic flux; a fixing member (46) that is provided on the inside of the fixing belt member and forms a nip between a pressure rotator (44) contacting the external surface of the fixing belt member; and a nonmagnetic and highly-conductive magnetic flux suppression member (60) that is arranged in a space between the inside of the fixing belt member and the outside of the fixing member and passes the magnetic flux penetrating through the heat layer to an inner surface thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
