<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software update system capable of updating software, even large-scale software, through a simple process without causing an increase in a circuit size of a terminal device on the part where updating software is executed. <P>SOLUTION: A software update system 100 of the present invention comprises a recording device 1 and a software update device 7. The recording device 1 has a first CPU 2 to perform a prescribed control according to software and a first interface circuit 5.
