<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle breath analyzer and a vehicle breath analyzing method that can more reliably detect driver's drinking condition based on his/her lung exhalation. <P>SOLUTION: A breath estimation ECU 60 in a vehicle breath analyzer 10 determines whether driver's breath contains air exhaled from the lungs from movement of his/her torso. Because in most cases the driver inevitably moves his/her torso when taking a deep breath before lung exhalation, the device can more reliably determine whether the air exhaled from the lungs is contained in the breath. The breath estimation ECU 60 also detects driver's drinking condition based on alcohol content in the breath when lung exhalation detecting means determines that driver's breath contains air exhaled from the lungs, which enables a more reliable detection of driver's drinking condition based on his/her lung exhalation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
