<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability organic electroluminescent (EL) display device which eliminates irregularities caused by element isolation film or foreign matter on an organic EL device by covering those irregularities with a resin layer thereby preventing occurrence of discontinuities in an inorganic protective layer on the resin layer, and which further suppresses adhesion of foreign matter to the resin layer to prevent occurrence of discontinuities in the inorganic protective layer on the resin layer. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an organic EL display device comprising an element substrate, a first electrode layer, an organic compound layer, a second electrode layer, and an element isolation layer includes a step of disposing resin on the second electrode and element isolation layers, a step of imprinting the surface shape of a plate-like component to a resin layer by press-fitting the plate-like component against resin while in contact therewith to cure the resin, a step of separating the plate-like component from the resin layer, and a step of forming an inorganic protective layer on the resin layer, the steps being carried out in that order. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
