<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it difficult for a third party to analyze a calculation method and operational expression and to produce a non-genuine product completely replacing a genuine product. <P>SOLUTION: A determination method comprises: a step (S2) that a reader-writer reads solid identification information and additional information from a storage medium, at the time of attaching a consumable supply (S1); a step (S3) that a control part determines whether or not a first operation result acquired by operation conducted using the solid identification information in accordance with a first operational expression is consistent with first determination information included in the additional information; and steps (S6, S7 and S8) that if consistent, the control part determines whether the attached consumable supply is a genuine product or not by using a predetermined probability to determine whether or not a second operation result acquired by operation conducted using the solid identification information in accordance with a second operational expression is consistent with second determination information included in the additional information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
