APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ALLOCATING DATA RATE IN A MULTI ANTENNA SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A device and a method for an allocating data rate in a multi antenna system are provided to differentially allocate a data transmission rate per layer. CONSTITUTION: A basic layer transmission unit includes a first encoding unit(122) and a first modulating unit(132). An enhancement layer transmission unit includes a second encoding unit(124) and a second modulating unit(134). The enhancement layer transmission unit transmits enhancement layer data by using a modulating method which is obtained through at least one residual enhancement layer except for a basic layer among a plurality of layers, an encoding rate, and the combination of modulating method and the encoding rate through at least one antenna among the plurality of transmission antennas.
