A method and system for transmitting uplink power status report are provided. The method includes that: a terminal transmits uplink power status report information to a base station, wherein the uplink power status report information includes configuration change indication information; the configuration change indication information is used to indicate the change situation of the system configuration description information which is transmitted from the base station and received by the terminal and/or the change situation of the uplink data channel power control configuration information in the system configuration description information. By the method and system of the invention, the base station can determine whether the terminal has correctly received the system configuration description message or the power configuration message of the uplink data channel, which are transmitted from the base station.
