PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus that copes with a surge voltage by a simple inverter circuit.SOLUTION: The power conversion apparatus is configured as follows. In a U-phase arm 2a in Fig.1, a second U-phase switching element 4b and a third U-phase switching element 4c are respectively composed of an element having a higher rated voltage than that of a first U-phase switching element 4a and a fourth U-phase switching element 4d. Consequently, it is possible to suppress breakage due to a surge voltage and cooler size increase due to a size increase of a gate resistor caused by a high gate off resistance value. When a switching element 4 is mounted to a heat receiving plate 11a, it is also possible to suppress the cooler size increase by equalizing the heat transferred to the whole of the heat receiving plate 11a. |
