PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deflection of each of a pair of substrates constituting an electro-optical device to make the distance between the pair of substrates more uniform.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electro-optical device (100) where a pair of substrates (10 and 20) are bonded to each other by a sealant (52) disposed in a seal region located around a pixel region (10a) having a plurality of pixels arranged therein includes: a bonding step of bonding the pair of substrates to each other by the sealant; an alignment step of bending one of the pair of substrates in such a direction as to get away from the other and holding the one of the pair of substrates by a substrate holding member (220) and then performing alignment between the pair of substrates; and a sealant curing step of eliminating the bending of one of the pair of substrates and then curing the sealant. |
