PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce maculature and to enhance reliability of continuous drawing record in an inkjet recording apparatus.SOLUTION: In an inkjet recording apparatus, discharge for abnormality detection is performed by applying a waveform for abnormal nozzle detection, a waveform different from a driving signal of a recording waveform which is applied when a target image is drawn/recorded on a recording medium, wherein an abnormal nozzle is made undeliverable on the basis of the discharge result, with correction performed with a nozzle other than the abnormal nozzle. After discharge is done for abnormal nozzle detection, before the target image is drawn/recorded, an implement for performing dischargeability recovery operation is provided. For example, recovery discharge is performed by applying a waveform that increases a discharging force more than a recording waveform or a waveform that makes stable discharge possible. Discharge may be implemented based on specific recovery image data. Also, a mode for cleaning a nozzle surface is possible in which nozzle surface is flooded with a washing liquid from a recovery hole of a nozzle surface and in which an adhesion liquid of the nozzle surface is recovered from the recovery hole together with the washing liquid. |
